Verdict

Or Bleu comes into this in good form having won his last two starts but the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding has harshly been raised 8lbs for his latest success at Chepstow and he may struggle to follow up in a race taken to go to PERCE ROCK, who gets the vote over Finger Onthe Pulse. Tom Taaffe's gelding got no further than the first fence at Thurles last time but is well treated as a result and he has to be considered with ground conditions to suit. Tony Martin's runners always warrant respect and his representative, the lightly-raced Clarified, is no exception on his handicap debut. Ping Pong Sivola has shown much improved form for racing under testing conditions this season but he may now be a shade high in the weights, while Ferdy Murphy's Three Mirrors has disappointed of late but the trainer's runners here always have to be respected. Arthur Moore's Notable D'Estruval is difficult to recommend on recent evidence and of more interest may be Osako D'airy, who was good value for his win at Chepstow last time. His trainer Paul Nicholls is also represented by Silverburn and Oslot, with the latter the mount of Ruby Walsh but seemingly too high in the weights. Preference then is for Tommy Stack's Perce Rock, who comes into this on the back of wins at Limerick and Punchestown and he remains well treated despite those successes and looks worth chancing.
