In depth

Verdict

The Govaness, Broxbourne and BLUE BUTTONS filled the first three places in a similar contest over a slightly shorter trip here in April. Broxbourne made all for a decisive victory over 3m at Aintree on her return to hurdling but Harry Fry's mare comes out best at the weights today and she'll appreciate going back over the smaller obstacles after an unhappy debut over fences. The seven-year-old had Midnight Jazz and Allez Encore behind when winning a Listed race over 2m at Wetherby in October and may have too much speed over this trip for Rons Dream, who looked a real staying type over much further here last time. Lily Waugh has improved but has also attracted the attention of the handicapper but Flementime will love the ground and remains comparatively unexposed.
