Verdict

Simply Supreme deserves to win a decent prize and was unlucky to come up against the impressive Brooklyn Breeze at Carlisle last time but may again have to settle for minor honours with preference for Henry Daly's Majority Verdict, who gets the verdict over Isard III. The last mentioned ran with promise on his reappearance at Bangor until falling at the last and, having fallen at the first fence on his only outing over the larger obstacles last term, there is a doubt concerning his jumping. Buckby Lane had little chance behind Puntal at Newbury last time but this is no easier and of more interest could be Jonjo O'Neill's Blood Sub. The six-year-old was still travelling well enough when falling in the race won by Majority Verdict at Haydock last month and, in receipt of weight, he has to be respected provided that he is none the worse for that tumble. However, Henry Daly's gelding has done nothing wrong so far and looks the one to beat, especially if any further rain falls.
