In depth

Formwatch

Pillar of Fire (IRE) In and out form over hurdles but did make a successful chase debut when second, would have finished closer had he not made a bad blunder; a leading contender today.

Phar From A Fiddle (IRE) Is off a high enough mark for his chasing debut but very consistent form over hurdles.

Bruthuinne (IRE) Lightly raced, but will need to do better than when well beaten in all his chase starts; has not run since March.

Wrens Island (IRE) A Hunter Chase winner and not disgraced in Handicap company when second to Lastman. Trip should suit and is a course winner; sound chances.

Bush Park (IRE) A winning chasing debut (had to work for it) soundly beaten by Awesome Aunt; should go well but does need to show signs of improvement to win.

Orswell Crest Well beaten on two chase starts in the Spring; others preferred.

Shifting Moon 46L beaten by Southern Star on his chasing debut at Bangor. Respectable form in hurdles but will need to improve to be in the shake up today.

Two Tears No chance when UR at the start (jockey remounted but always tailed off), needs to be better over fences than hurdles to win this.

Idalgo de Guye (FR) Any respectable form has been on soft/heavy; out of his depth here

Maxie McDonald (IRE) Has campaigned well over fences during the summer (two wins). Will run fresh, ground suits and trip will not hinder; cannot be ignored.

Scoring Pedigree (IRE) Has been chasing since 1999 and is still a Novice. Well beaten by Wrens Island latest; others preferred.

Tommy Carson Won over this trip at Plumpton on GF, ran respectably in good company at Chepstow (15.5L beaten by Valley Henry); should go well but needs to find a bit to win this.

Strong Magic (IRE) Ran well over 3m having dropped in the Handicap; has a lot to prove over this trip.

County Flyer Finished behind Strong Magic last time, well beaten by Maxie McDonald penultimate start; unlikely to finish in front of either of them today.

Silent Action (USA) Has been running over fences during the summer, but has failed to make the frame; unlikely to do so today.
