In depth

Verdict

Herbert Park couldn't quite match the finishing speed of fellow debutant Duke Des Champs here last month but that was a very promising introduction. However, the third has finished tailed off at Ascot since so it's difficult to evaluate the form. WINTER WALK won a point-to-point on heavy ground at Toomebridge in April so will handle conditions better than most. He can make a winning start under Rules ahead of another winning pointer, Golan To War. The market will be the best guide to the chances of the three newcomers.
