Verdict

VICTORY PARADE sets a fair standard and he is preferred here to Sherwani Wolf and Silver Kate in a race of intrigue. Plenty of potential improvers in the race as one might expect however Victory Parade is proven. This son of Old Vic ran well on soft ground last time out when third to Watamu Bay and he can return to winning ways. If carrying a penalty proves too much in this testing ground then it may pay to side with Silver Kate. She was well-backed before running out an easy winner at the track last time out and she is considered a major threat despite her penalty. Sherwani Wolf looks an interesting contender; he was an impressive bumper winner here last month and looks to be making his hurdling debut over a good trip. The ground is no bother and he must run well. Rif is a former point-to-point winner but his success came on different ground, whilst Red Bishop and Badger Foot should improve now stepped up in trip but each looks more of a prospect for handicaps later down the line. Books Review's efforts behind Frascati Park at Stratford reads well, whilst Goodwill Phil is another interesting recruit to hurdles but he may struggle over this trip on this ground. A tasty opening gambit, where preference is for Victory Parade.
