Verdict

Sussex Ranger won well on debut at Fontwell and followed up in better company at Sandown. He won on soft going on the Flat and is a well-built type but faces several potentially-useful rivals. WE HAVE A DREAM, like Sussex Ranger, is also entered at Sandown. He has been impressive at Warwick and Doncaster since coming over from France and is the one to beat in this Grade 1 if turning up. Famous Milly came well clear in a Listed race at Aintree on her second start while Mercenaire won by 25 lengths at Exeter and looks just the sort for a race like this.
