In depth

Verdict

Kid Charlemagne was a very impressive bumper winner last season and is chosen to carry that form on to a hurdling career, Iroquois Warrior and Busy Henry could be the main rivals. It is very difficult for a bumper horse to win under a penalty, but this one actually won his second race very easily indeed. He is obviously a talented performer and if he takes to this game he could win this before moving on to much better things. Iroquois Warrior went in at the third time of asking in a modest bumper at Fontwell. He hails from a top yard, will no doubt have well schooled and if supported in the market take note. Busy Henry made a very pleasing hurdles debut and should improve for the experience. David Pipe's The Package is another bumper winner worthy of respect, but Kid Charlemagne looked a classy act last season and he gets the decision.
