Verdict

BOB FORD would have a big chance in this if able to reproduce his two-length second to Mendip Express at Bangor in November but he has something to prove now having been pulled up in two starts last month, albeit in better company. Alpha Victor is hardly reliable himself, however, and there are question marks on his return to chasing as he refused when last seen over the larger obstacles. He also has a penalty to carry but is still preferred to Bill Kinsey's other runner, Strike Fast. Ex-pointer Danners has been well beaten in his three starts to date under Rules.
