In depth

Verdict

Shannon Spree appreciated the drop in grade when winning over this trip on the Polytrack at Kempton eight days ago. She has to go on the short-list here, despite her penalty, though third Doctor Banner could conceivably reverse that form on today's terms. Always Ends Well had Choisirez behind when runner-up to the impressive Producer over 7f at Epsom and will be fancied to go one better here but he's proving difficult to win with and preference is for LOXTON LAD. Roger Charlton's colt is relatively unexposed and shaped as though this trip wouldn't be a problem when fourth at Leicester last time. The others have a bit to find to get competitive.
