In depth

Verdict

A number of these, including Prince De Bersy and Fighting Chance, have possibilities whilst Ballyvadden and Iris's Prince have pretty solid claims but we'll take a chance with INCENTIVISE. Craig Roberts has a decent strike rate over fences at this track and it's not beyond belief that this former Irish point winner will be able to show improved form over fences. He was 100-1 and bigger for all four starts over hurdles and performed accordingly but begins his handicap career from a lowly mark as a result. Ballyvadden is the obvious starting point but he has a higher mark to overcome and has yet to win away from Leicester; that said he finished over twenty lengths in front of Mr Big on his penultimate start and could be progressive. Iris's Prince certainly isn't that but he has reached a decent level of form for this yard and has been pretty consistent; those credentials make him worthy of a place on the short-list. There may be more to come from Faneuil Hill and Samsbro whilst Le Briar Soul, Prince De Bersy and Fighting Chance can all have cases made for them but we'll take a chance with Incentivise.
