In depth

Verdict

Penny¿s Gift is taken to land the opener at the expense of Kingswinford and Haven¿t A Clue. The selection improved on her debut outing to score over the five furlongs at this track last month. She definitely improved for the experience and although the ground was soft that day which led to a few odd results on the card she still has sold claims if running up to her true form. Kingswinford was in behind the selection on his last outing. It was plain to see that he was not enjoying the soft surface that day and will much prefer this faster ground and will be seen to greater effect on it this time. Haven¿t A Clue improved from her debut to score at a big price at Folkestone last week. She drew clear in the closing stages and looked a good deal better than her rivals that day but she was up against her own sex and today she will have to raise her game as she competes against her opposite sex also. With that in mind we will return to Penny¿s Gift as our idea of the winner.
