    Verdict

FAR WEST, by Poliglote out of a Cadoudal mare, has a NH pedigree and showed up well on his hurdling debut at Auteuil in April when beaten less than four lengths. Now with Paul Nicholls, expect him to pay his way this winter starting here. Handazan is an Aga Khan cast-off but did win over 1m4f on heavy ground at Leopardstown in June and Alan King should find him a race or two over timber. Acht has won a couple of minor races on the Flat in Germany recently and is another interesting newcomer while Mr Lando looks the pick of the two previous winners ahead of Gigondas, though has his first run here for Tony Carroll having won at Tramore in August for Paul Deegan.
