In depth

Verdict

Champagne Bob wasn’t beaten far when third over course and distance earlier this month but that was on soft going and both victories to date have come over further. Spellmaker has done most of his winning on the all-weather but was only a length behind the winner at Bath last time. Go Amber Go was in good form in the spring and Castlerea Tess has won three times this year, though looks high enough in the weights now. QUITE A STORY (NAP) failed to find an extra gear when fourth at Goodwood but that is a sharp 6f. The straight course here is more demanding and Josephine Gordon looks a significant booking for Pat Chamings’ mare, who can reverse earlier Windsor running with Go Amber Go on 4lb better terms.
