In depth

Verdict

Truckers Lodge was third in this last year when racing off a 9lb higher mark but only third behind Fortescue at Ascot subsequently. Quick Wave was also behind the latter at Sandown in March but the mare was impressive at the same track last month and is theoretically 5lb ahead of the handicapper, despite a 4lb penalty. THE BIG DOG also carries a 4lb penalty and was pulled up in this last year after his rider lost an iron but he arrives in peak form this time around having already won the Munster National at Limerick and Troytown at Navan this season. Time To Get Up is a thorough stayer but was never travelling in a trial for this here at the start of the month, though should strip fitter today. Movethechains rattled up a four-timer at Lingfield last season but hasn’t run since February whereas The Galloping Bear had a pipe-opener over hurdles last month. Ask Me Early likes it here and could figure if his stamina holds out with Musical Slave also worth a second look.
