After early-season victories, Gabrial was sent to Royal Ascot for the Coventry Stakes but was well beaten and wasn't seen again until last month when he caught the eye in a very strong Musselburgh handicap won by his stablemate Chapter Seven. There's no doubt he's better than his finishing position that day suggests, though both Evervescent and Switzerland finished in front of him. The latter has since been well beaten at Newmarket but Stan Moore's charge is on a fair mark and looks a threat to all. However, he finished almost four lengths behind SEANIE on soft ground at Fairyhouse in September and David Marnane's Irish raider will be better for a recent run where he pulled too hard. He's just handed the vote in a very tight handicap in which it's impossible to rule anything out.
