Verdict

A tight little handicap in which GOSSIP COLUMN (NAP) is the preference. He looks a much-improved sort since joining Ian Williams, scoring authoritatively at Windsor prior to a really good effort in a decent Sandown handicap. The fast ground seems to suit well and he should handle a 4lb rise for his latest improvement. He receives 11lb from Mr Reckless and that could prove decisive, although the top weight cannot be discounted on the back of a solid effort behind Danceteria at Newmarket latest. Gabrials Centurion has shaped well on both starts for Richard Fahey and should be winning soon but is upped in class. Macaque and Jetstream have some fair form in the book but this term's efforts have been rather low-key.
