Marsh Pride chased home Bahama Moon, who runs earlier, here last time but has to concede weight to some progressive three-year-olds. Meccabah was withdrawn from a race here a couple of weeks ago due to heavy ground so wouldn't want more rain while Mouille Point was beaten at a lower level last time. Persistence has been gradually improving and makes her handicap debut on a fair mark but the form of Caravela's victory at Thirsk took a knock when the runner-up was well beaten at odds-on next time. Pantera Negra's victories were at a lower level as was that of LIQUID GOLD at Beverley but she came with a powerful late run, suggesting there was more to come, so gets the nod despite a 5lb rise.
