In depth

Verdict

Fennis Boy was well supported for a very moderate event over the C&D last month and was still just about in front when coming to grief at the last. Jacks Island and Convincing eventually occupied the places but would have been well behind Shark Hanlon's charge had he not fallen. Garlic Hill had looked a nice prospect when landing a maiden hurdle over timber here last May and started odds-on for a novices' event the following month but pulled up with something amiss. He makes his chasing debut here and should be suited by the bigger obstacles. HAROLD'S CROSS had shown plenty of ability over timber and caught the eye on his chasing bow here last month. He is another chasing type and the benefit of that opening run may give him the edge here. Bobs Display, whose close second to For Bill at Thurles in January is the best form on view here, is an obvious threat though that was a muddling race and she may have been flattered.
