Verdict

Ballybacka Queen won this a year ago from 2lb lower and though unsuccessful since she's been competing at a very high level including when narrowly beaten in a Listed contest at Leopardstown in April. She should go well in an open event in which Dermot Weld's ALVEENA (NAP) heads the list of likely winners. She finished ahead of the former when just touched off by Repeater in a very strong handicap at the Curragh last month and, with further progress likely, can go one better. Henry's Girl was behind the selection in that latter race and has since won easily at Tipperary so the form looks strong while Elusive In Paris has been in the form of his life since returning to Turf from Polytrack, though he's up a massive 10lb for his Fairyhouse victory. Synopsis is a bit of an unknown after his battling victory at Roscommon for which a 4lb rise isn't excessive.
