In depth

Verdict

Esoterique won the Prix Rothschild over a mile here last year and wasn't disgraced behind Solow in the Queen Anne at Ascot in June. Andre Fabre's filly can figure and Ivawood, third behind Gleneagles in the both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas, also drops back slightly in distance after a poor run in the Jersey Stakes. The latter is preferred to stablemate Coulsty but another UK raider in MUHAARAR makes most appeal. Charles Hill's charge arrives on the back of a double in Group 1 sprints over 6f but won the Greenham over 7f on his seasonal debut and should make a bold bid here if the ground remains good. Watchable looks up against it but Gordon Lord Byron is still capable of going well at this level and preferred to compatriot Majestic Queen. The progressive Son Cesio arrives in better form than Noozhoh Canarias and Robert Le Diable of the home challengers.
