In depth

Verdict

Garth Mountain's fifth at Musselburgh was his best run so far and he's not out of what looks a modest opener. Mecox Bay was still beaten 37 lengths when second at Bangor, however, while Molaise Lad has had plenty of chances though Diarmuid O'Regan's claim will help his cause. BROCTUNE PAPA GIO has his first run in a handicap over hurdles and, more significantly, gets good ground for the first time. He's won four times on the level and is potentially well treated in this, though probably needs to settle a little better than he has so far.
