          Verdict

          With 22 declared to run, this has to be the trappiest contest of the day to call, but Craiova, with a high draw to help, may be the one ahead of stablemate San Antonio, Last Appointment and Master Robbie. There are many others with claims on form, but the likes of Persario, Pinchbeck and Dowhatjen have been done no favours by the draw on the evidence of Wednesday' s action, so Craiova, who has ticks in most of the right boxes, ground apart, is taken to get back to winning ways. Brought with a sweeping run from a bad draw at Ascot, he nearly managed to overhaul Gilded Dancer, losing nothing in defeat. That was over a mile, and now that he is dropped back to seven furlongs, his best trip judged on his four-timer this term, the four-year-old can make amends. San Antonio in contrast, seems to need every yard of this and will be staying on at the finish, while Master Robbie was able to dictate matters at Ayr last time but will not be able to have things all his own way in this big field. Last Appointment has scope for improvement but faces a stiff task on his handicap debut, and although it is impossible to be confident, we are happy to stick with Craiova whose chance will increase even more if it rains.
