    Verdict

Past Master just prevailed when scoring on Goodwood soft last time and now aims to confirm that improvement under different conditions. Richard Spencer continues to try to unlock the key and return the ex-Godolphin Excellent Result to somewhere near his best and Carry Me Home has been disappointing on all starts this season. Coolongolook showed nothing the last day but presumably something was amiss as he'd looked a promising maiden previously and it would be no surprise to see him go close after a break since mid-May. However, SUPERNOVA quickened up nicely to land an ordinary Goodwood maiden, looks a surefire improver and starts a handicap career on a feasible mark for David Simcock to work with.
