A typically-competitive renewal. Dazzling Dan held on to beat Oxted at Newmarket but the runner-up is allowed 2lb for half-a-length. Embour has taken several steps forward this year and Open Wide is running well. The handicapper is beginning to show the three-year-old Konchek some mercy but appears to have reeled in Show Stealer. Muthmir is is the veteran stage now but still has plenty of class while it’s likely that Bielsa won’t give up his unbeaten record without a fight. A MOMENTOFMADNESS hasn’t won since taking this 12 months ago under William Buick but is 4lb lower as a result. Along with a host of today’s rivals, he finished in a bunch behind the prolific Dakota Gold at York last month but might be the pick of the weights today ahead of the consistent Arecibo.
