      In depth

      Formwatch

Soldier Mak Lightly raced of late and not been in the best of form this season. Uttoxeter specialist, and faces stiff task here off top weight.

Mr Busby Formerly with Mary Reveley. Disappointing in three runs over hurdles this season, hard to make a case here on return to the larger obstacles.

Isle Be Lord (NZ) Tailed off when fell at the last on chasing debut, having been pulled up on two previous outings this season. Impossible to support this one.

Spinofski Half brother to Party Politics, but has shown no similarities as yet, having failed to complete in two starts over fences.

Winn's Pride (IRE) No form for a couple of years and seems to have lost his way.

Talathath (FR) Third to Precious Island at Leicester recently, which in the context of this race reads quite well. Almost certain to appreciate this faster ground today, and goes to post with a definite chance.

Errigal (FR) Bad mistake cost him his chance last time and his earlier fourth at Leicester would give him a decent chance here. However, would probably prefer softer ground and a sharper track.

Chevalier Bayard (IRE) fair second here on seasonal reappearance but disappointing on only subsequent start and seems a very doubtful stayer over this trip.

Arctic King Not the most reliable of jumpers but was in contention in a better race than this when falling last time and not one that can be totally ruled out.

Risky Way Has been off for all of a year, probably been waiting for decent ground. Fair hurdler who makes his chasing debut today.

Jorodama King Still a maiden and hasn't showed much in two attempts over fences.

Charter Royal (FR) Has twice floundered on heavy ground but had been in fair form previously, winning a moderate race on Good To Soft at Catterick. Not without a chance now the ground has dried up a bit.

Little Worsall (IRE) Has shown improved form in last couple of runs, but still has something to find with Charter Royal on recent Catterick form.

Helmsley Flier Very moderate form and hard to fancy.

Wadsworth (NZ) Ex-New Zealand flat winner but not much form over here. Stiff task.

Alena H Banks Very ordinary on evidence to date, and no chance at weights.
