      Verdict

Recent Hamilton maiden winner Sand Skier looks the pick of Mark Johnston's two runners ahead of Sea Lord but YAA WAYL sets a decent standard and is taken to resume winning ways for Michael Jarvis. The son of Whipper seemed not to appreciate the fast surface when beaten at Pontefract earlier this month but he looks worth siding with back on a softer surface having chased home Layla's Hero on similar going in a competitive nursery at Haydock previously. Layla's Dancer, a stable companion of the selection's conqueror at Haydock, has every chance on his nursery debut off mark of 77 having won well on his first start in a soft ground maiden at Thirsk. Michael Jarvis is also represented by Dylanesque but she needs to improve on her showing at Epsom last time to get involved at the business end of the race and of more interest may be the lightly raced Be Invincible for the yard of Barry Hills that has a good record here. The softer ground may be of some concern to him though, while Subtefuge looks to be going the right way but is another that would probably prefer faster ground. Gerard Butler's Swiss Cross has improved with each start and should handle the more testing ground today being by Cape Cross out of an Indian Ridge mare. He looks one of the main threats to the selection, Yaa Wayl.
