Verdict

Malin Bay has won over this trip and made a satisfactory reappearance following a lay-off when third at Ayr. Ballyknock Lad quickly reverts to hurdles after being pulled up over fences at Taunton and should go well but Night In Milan is much better over the larger obstacles. BOLD CONQUEST won in this grade at Uttoxeter in May and is only 2lb higher. His latest sixth in a better race at Chepstow wasn't a bad effort and he gets a speculative vote today as jockey Tom O'Brien rides this course as well as anyone. Echo Springs and Mawaqeet may be the pick of the remainder as Billy Biscuit has a long absence to overcome.
