Verdict

Pat's Oscar won a Sligo bumper in August but was beaten when falling on her hurdling debut here three weeks later. L'andana won a Thurles bumper in October and though well beaten on his debut over timber at Kilbeggan he was up with the pace for a long way over further. Dual bumper winner Mountain Rock makes his debut over hurdles and a couple of recent runs on the Flat will have put him straight but it's about time SILKEN THOMAS was winning. He had some smart form in 2015 and didn't reappear until earlier this month so gets the vote to continue the fine form of Noel Meade's yard. Probing made an eye-catching debut here and, with improvement expected, can get into the frame.
