In depth

Verdict

Ballychorus, a winning bumper and hurdler, made a fair debut over fences behind Painted Lady at Fairyhouse in October though the winner has done nothing for the form. Shershewill made a promising start over the bigger obstacles at Downpatrick in October but hasn't made the expected progress. Springbelle's best run over fences came on her debut at Listowel last summer on good going and she hasn't run as well on softer surfaces subsequently. Winning point-to-pointer Tiger Bay Lady landed a Sligo maiden over hurdles and has performed well in handicaps. She has a staying pedigree and should make a bold bid but TWENTY FOUR YEARS is handed the vote. Tony Martin's mare scored between the flags in April before a very encouraging debut over fences at Kilbeggan where she may have won but for a bad mistake at the fourth last. None of the remainder can be dismissed in a competitive event.
