Verdict

No favourite has won in seven renewals and the last five winners have been seven-year-olds. SAND ARTIST (NAP) is likely to be among the market leaders after joining Gordon Elliott after only just failing to score at Perth. He looked a certain winner at this trip but just faded on the run-in so can begin his new career in Ireland with a victory. Waltz Legend had looked ready to win soon before a poor run at Down Royal while the front-running Illtakeitfromhere won over hurdles in April and only faded from the last back over the bigger obstacles at Killarney. Point-to-point winner Winnie Cooper had been mainly consistent until pulling up at Kilbeggan where a bad mistakes put paid to her chances.
