In depth

Verdict

Jim Bolger won this in 2013 with Mona Brown and PARISH HALL has the quality to follow suit. He's never really reprised his brilliant juvenile form, though his career has featured some fine efforts against the likes of Camelot and The Fugue and he should be fit enough as he has an entry in next weekend's Winter Derby at Lingfield. Dermot Weld has two engaged with Pat Smullen on board the French import Behesht. His three victories, which include a Listed success on his final start, have come on soft ground but if he handles tonight's surface he has to be considered. The stable's second runner, Vedelago, won a Group 1 in Italy in 2013 but that was his last victory while Shalaman and Whipper's Boy, who fought out the finish of a handicap here a month ago, will need to step up though they do have a fitness advantage over the principals.
