Verdict

WITHNAIL won this a year ago beating tonight's rival Pimlico Sound in a driving finish. The weights here favour the former, who looks to have been prepared for a Polytrack campaign as he was having only his second start since March when a very close fourth behind Road To Victory at Cork last month when Trotting Weasel was just touched off. That trio are very closely matched again but Withnail should be fighting fit this time and gets the nod. Almadaa ran his best race to date when close up behind Boynagh Joy here last time but that was over a mile and this looks too sharp. Sovereign Secure has been running well over the C&D from today's mark but is still a maiden after 14 starts.
