In depth

Verdict

ROMANISED, the 2018 Irish 2000 Guineas winner, has run in nine Group 1 races subsequently scoring at Deauville in August last year and being beaten a nose by Circus Maximus at Longchamp the following month. He's also won a Curragh Group 2 this summer and, though well beaten in his last two starts and making his all-weather debut, his class should see him through. He's rated 6lb higher than Saltonstall and has to concede 4lb but the latter arrives in brilliant form having won in heavy conditions at Limerick and Naas, the latest in Listed company. He's another having his first start on the surface as is Harpocrates, a long way behind Saltonstall at Naas though having his first start for new connections that day and unsuited by the going. Rebel Tale is yet another first-timer on the track and he's disappointed in two runs this summer after running very well in two Group 2 races last season. Geological has had 64 starts around here and won eight times.
