In depth

Verdict

Joanna Morgan won this last year and BALMONT FLYER looks the type to complete the double. He was having his first start beyond a mile when mid-division behind Raydari over 1m4f two weeks ago but was leading at tonight's trip and is on such a lowly mark that he's handed the vote. Carvelas didn't show much on his opening runs but produced a much improved effort over this trip on soft ground at Killarney and has to be of interest. Denis Of Kerry finished in front of the selection last time but is finding it difficult to lose his maiden tag and the trip looks on the short side. Grainne Whale has now gone 20 starts without a victory but Whiteside produced by far his best run when last seen here in July and further progress should see him go well from a mark of 47.
