PURE ACTION hasn't been beaten far in any of his starts, including here last winter, and though having to concede weight all round should be up to the task. Presidential has never raced on the all-weather but has a good level of consistency on Turf and has been put in on a realistic claiming mark. Dandy Rock only just failed to catch Bien Chase over 7f here last month and can be forgiven a moderate effort at Laytown while Vanderbilt ran well in a similar race to this at Bellewstown. Smugglers Cove has more scope than most of these having had just one run when catching the eye in a Curragh maiden last month. Pat Smullen has been booked and his mount could pose the main threat.
