Verdict

Mark Johnston has three entries. Nayef Island is 9lb higher than his easy victory at Newmarket and though unable to keep pace with Telecaster and Too Darn Hot in the Dante there was no disgrace in that. Silvestre De Sousa has been on board the last twice but he's now on The Trader, who has produced two fine efforts in handicaps in recent weeks. Joe Fanning rides Victory Command, who made all to land a Listed contest at Ascot in July to complete a hat-trick and has gradually dropped to a winnable mark. Alkaamel completed an all-weather hat-trick at the beginning of the year and has continued in good form, though he's never run over this far. His trainer also runs Politicise, another tackling the trip for the first time but likely to be suited. Le Don De Vie returned from a long break to make all over an extended mile here and makes his handicap debut but it's RED HOT who gets the nod. A winner at Newcastle in December, she looked like taking a hand in the finish in the Cheshire Oaks on her return but didn't quite last out the trip. Creationist has only run on the all-weather and never over a trip this far.
