In depth

Verdict

Diddums and Leadenhall Lass will both have supporters here but preference is for THEATRE STREET. Simon Dow's filly is 6lbs higher than when scoring over course and distance last month, in what was her first start since April. She has yet to be tried on ground this quick but her sire Invincible Spirit acted well on it and she may now just have come right, so she looks worth following despite the rise. Diddums took an apprentice race at Goodwood and escapes a penalty as a result, but he had to work pretty hard to prevail there and will find this tough enough. Leadenhall Lass is 6lbs better off with the selection for around three lengths and should be able to narrow that gap, but whether the visor is as effective second time remains to be seen. Silver Guest is suffering for his maiden success, while Peter Island is back on a handy mark but is bang out of form as present and would be a bit of a surprise winner judged on recent efforts. Louphole is just 1lb higher than when scoring at Brighton in May and relishes this ground so cannot be ruled out with excessive confidence, but we'll take Theatre Street to take the applause.
