GLOUCESTER wasn't doing anything in a hurry at Windsor but his strike rate makes him more appealing than Yossi with Run For Ede's best of the rest. The selection has been in fine fettle this summer and looks capable of winning again judged by his narrow defeat at Windsor. There's a doubt as to whether this track will play to his strengths and there's a chance that he could lose vital ground when becoming outpaced down the hill but he should stay on strongly all the way to the line. That phrase hasn't been used very often in conjunction with Yossi who has oft attracted support and oft failed to deliver. His ability is not in question and he's joined a good team but was again found wanting in the heat of battle over course and distance last time out. He did, at least, comfortably account for Watson's Bay on that occasion and he looks to have more to fear from the locally trained Run For Ede's. She escapes a penalty for a hard-earned victory at Ascot and has a leading chance. Soundbyte has form on downhill tracks and could go well at a price if running up to his best but there must be some doubt about his capability to do that on recent evidence. There are no such concerns with Gloucester who should make the frame.
