In depth

Verdict

A potentially trappy contest with four of the half dozen runners officially rated within a few pounds of each other and we will just side with AYEMDEE to have the edge with Dancing Mist perhaps next best. The selection is another Jonjo O'Neill inmate and ran up a hat-trick in November and December before unseating here last time. Cut in the ground and this trip suit the seven-year-old, while Richie McLernon's 3lb claim is another plus and we will take him to return to winning ways. Dancing Mist is another who failed to complete last time when tried here over an extreme trip. The drop back to three miles will surely help him show more, and he has course form here on good to soft so he is much respected. King Jack was a soft ground Huntingdon winner last time but his problem appears to be the trip, as he has yet to prove that he stays this far. Reblis won't mind the distance and he has some solid, if unspectacular form, that at the very least demands respect in a race of this nature. Although not dismissed out of hand, the Robert & Sally Alner-trained pair of runners look less appealing than most and Ayemdee is the suggestion here.
