Verdict

A fair Novices' Chase this in which the three to focus on could be Something Wells, Ruari and Sheriff Roscoe and the vote goes Something Wells. The selection was in the process of running a fair race in the Jewson at Cheltenham when he took a fall but then bounced back at Chepstow when only beaten in a photograph. Whilst that odds-on defeat looks sure to have left a sour taste in many a punters' mouth, the longer trip and stiff track today will suit and he could prove hard to beat despite giving weight away all round. Ruairi is consistent but is unlikely to get his own way out in front, whilst Sheriff Roscoe has winning course form and should appreciate the drop in trip today. Mister Gloss needs keeping an eye on in the betting as this fair hurdler makes his chasing debut, whilst at a bigger price Bay Mouse may improve on his debut run. A decent contest, but Something Wells could be the class act.
