ON THE ROAD continued his good progress when landing a hat-trick with last week’s success at Fontwell. He’s up a further 7lb but may not have finished winning yet. Samson was beaten only a couple of lengths when fifth over these hurdles last time while Avithos finished a lot closer at Chepstow on her latest start. Buz Barton was runner-up at Newton Abbot in between his more usual modest efforts but better is expected from Bodekin Point now handicapping for the first time with Richard Johnson taking over the reins.
