In depth

Verdict

J P McManus has three entries here and Mark Walsh has chosen Rock De Baune over The Big Lense and Western Boy though his mount appeared suited by stepping up to 3m at Leopardstown last time where he wasn't beaten far. THE JAM MAN, who was in tremendous form on good ground last summer, hasn't taken to fences this campaign and did much better when reverting to hurdles and finishing runner-up at Gowran so gets the nod in a tight handicap. Polished Steel was placed in a Thurles handicap before easily landing a maiden on the same track but Eight And Bob has been hit with a 9lb rise for a narrow victory over 3m here last month. Halsafari has been progressing nicely and battled to victory over the course and distance last time though that was on ground with plenty of give. Chatham Street Lad is in fine form though he's another suited by softer ground but British Art has been running well and can make his presence felt from the bottom of the handicap.
