In depth

Verdict

John Gosden's Cobbs Quay makes plenty of appeal on pedigree for his debut but the son of Danehill Dancer would probably prefer more cut in the ground and the going is likely to better suit another newcomer, Roger Charlton's Embezzle, who is by Sadler's Wells but out of a Shirley Heights mare and therefore an influence for faster ground. Richard Hannon's runners can do little wrong at present so Mark Harbour has to be respected first time on turf having run much better for his debut spin on the Polytrack at Kempton. Marzante looks the pick of Roger Charlton's two runners in the race having found just Measuring Time too good in a Salisbury maiden last month and he has to be considered but may not represent much in the way of value. U A E Storm is readily discounted after his latest effort at Leicester and the vote goes the way of HAPPY TODAY. Brian Meehan's colt made a promising debut when a close fourth behind Biondetti in a Newmarket maiden earlier this month and the form of that race is working out well.
