      Verdict

      Though disappointing on the Flat, Three Star General showed some promise on his first run for David Pipe at Ascot and today’s step up in trip may be what’s required. Positively Dylan won a handicap over 2m4f here last time but that’s earned him a penalty back in novice company and he may struggle to give the weight to FORTIFIED BAY. Alan King’s charge is overdue a win over timber and his yard could not be in better form so he gets the nod.
