    Verdict

Compton Rose is marginally preferred to Maimoona and Doric Lady. It would be encouraging if the market were to give out the right signals on her seasonal reappearance but Henry Candy has his string in good order and she showed promise in abundance on her sole outing. That run came at Windsor in July and she stayed on really well once the penny dropped to finish within 4 lengths of the winner. Maimoona hails from another in-form yard and will be fancied to make it third time lucky having gone close on both starts last year. It was slightly disappointing that she didn't win the second of them given her debut showing and, as both runs were on soft, she also has to prove that she can handle this quicker surface. Doric Lady progressed with each of her three starts and should be able to win her maiden if continuing in the same vein this term, one or two others have shown ability whilst Colour Of Money certainly looks the part on paper and is one to watch closely. However, we'll be hoping that Compton Rose can blossom today.
