In depth

Verdict

Although he is in danger of becoming disappointing after finding a few too good in his recent outings, Fantastic Champion has some solid form to his name and is worth giving another chance to at this level. Mon Villez and Idole First are obvious dangers from top yards and also have to be considered if the prices are not too restricting. However, as neither are likely to develop into stable-stars, there may be better value to be had elsewhere. Teorban and Have No Doubt are opposable on what they have achieved in this sphere to date - so the search for a fair price brings us back to Fantastic Champion, who has fared well in the face of some stiff tests to date. Lucy Wadham does well with her small string of horses and her charge still has enough scope to strike a blow for the minnows here.
