In depth

Verdict

What A Man has shaped well in two novice events and could be ready to strike here, I Hear Thunder and Too Forward appear to be the main rivals. Gary Moore's gelding returned from a long lay to finish an excellent fourth to Trabolgan in a decent event at Lingfield. He disappointed a little next time at the same track when well behind L'Ami. However if you take into account the bounce factor, and the quality of the race, it wasn't too bad a performance, and against this lesser opposition we expect him to go close. I Hear Thunder has also taken on some decent types including Cornish Rebel and Aristoxene, this is much more his level and he should be concerned in the finish. Too Forward showed he was on the way back with an excellent third behind Eric's Charm over course and distance recently and he is another to consider in a wide open affair. King Georges is a consistent type and could prove best of the remainder, but What A Man has scope for improvement and just gets the vote
