    Verdict

    Just four runners take part in our opening two-year-old race, they are all making their first appearances and we like the look of Observer, with Norcroft and Dustini set to chase him home. David Loder has his string well forward and Observer may have too much class for these rivals.This son of Distant View cost 95 thousand guineas as a yearling so is the most expensive in the line up and with the stable having one of the best records for first time out winners he does hold very strong claims Dustini is from a yard doing quite well with it's juveniles, he is a son of Rossini who cost 21 thousand guineas as a yearling and will no doubt know his job. Neville Callaghan invariably has a speedy youngster in his yard and Norcroft has both sprint and stamina blood running through his veins, he may be better over longer trips in the future but should still be capable of showing up well here. So without the aid of a betting market we will side with what appears to be the best bred horse and look to Observer.
