Verdict

James Fanshawe's Cluny has shown improved form as a three-year-old and has to be considered on her handicap debut off a mark of just 66 but more solid claims are held by QELAAN, who gets the vote over Full of Nature. Sylvester Kirk's filly has not troubled the judge since making a winning debut as a two-year-old but she is slipping down to a fair mark now and has to be respected. Jane Chapple-Hyam's Bath maiden winner Fisadara has struggled in handicaps in her last two starts and looks best left out of calculations, while Amanda Perrett's King's La Mont has been well beaten in recent outings but has dropped to a decent mark. The vote than goes to Marcus Tregoning's Qelaan, who is less exposed than most of these, has shown gradual improvement in maidens before making an encouraging first start in a handicap at Kempton last month and she is taken to open her account.
